Duggan Morris Architects have submitted a Planning Application for a mixed use development in South Tottenham’s Creative Enterprise Zone.
Duggan Morris were appointed by GCAP Investments, a Joint Venture between Empyrean Developments and Polyteck Building Services in collaboration with a Creative Social Enterprise, The Mill Co. Project.
The scheme seeks to create a new architectural typology which combines over 25,000 sqft of affordable commercial spaces for creative makers, 12 affordable rented accommodation units tethered to the commercial workspaces and 87 market housing units to create a new creative quarter for London, increasing employment space and density, whilst addressing the need for more high quality housing in the borough.
The Loom has been commended in The Architectural Review’s brand new award - The AR: New into Old Awards. Winners were revealed on the 14th December.
The Architectural Review has long championed creative reuse, and the subject has become of significant new interest because of the carbon implications of retrofit rather than replacement. This new award celebrates the successful adaptation of original architecture to contemporary functions as well as the varied remodelling strategies, such as innovative insertions, that make imaginative reuse possible.
In March 2018, 4 members of our team will take part in the ‘Cycle to MIPIM’ challenge, from London to Cannes.
Over 150 Industry professionals will each be riding up to 1500km over 6 days to help raise money for the charitable foundation, Coram.

Duggan Morris Architects have won an open international design competition, organised by the RIBA, which sought innovative proposals for a residential development featuring a series of 19m2 micro-apartments in Forest Gate, East London.
