Oaks, Prague is a new high-end residential development, 20km from Prague city centre. This project has been imagined as a contemporary village, in a truly stunning location; Central Bohemia. The vision for the place is community driven and will offer communal facilities to the new residents, such as a school, a post office, a bakery, a restaurant / café and shuttle and a Country Club in the Nebřenice Castle, to be completely refurbished.
A team of UK based architects have been commissioned to each develop a plot as part of the overall masterplan. Each cluster of houses expresses the architectural practices' ethos and their interpretation of the site.
This project was procured through a two-stage competition, inviting architectural practices from Northern Europe, notably from the UK, to participate. Seven UK practices have been selected following the international design competition. The shortlisted teams were selected for their design flair and contemporary interpretation of the Czech countryside architecture.
